Meriam is running for Pennsylvania House District 131. The district covers parts of Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton counties. It includes Upper Saucon, Coopersburg, East Greenville, Green Lane, Pennsburg, Red Hill, and nearby towns.

District 131 covers about 121 square miles in three counties. It runs through parts of the Lehigh Valley and Upper Perkiomen Valley. The district section lists each town and has a map for homes near a border.

Lehigh County: Coopersburg, Lower Milford, Upper Milford, Upper Saucon, and part of Salisbury. Montgomery County: East Greenville, Green Lane, Pennsburg, Red Hill, Marlborough, Salford, and Upper Hanover. Northampton County: part of Lower Saucon.

Milou Mackenzie is the current state representative. The Lower Saucon Republican has held the seat since 2021.

Meriam supports keeping decisions about abortion, contraception, IVF, and pregnancy care between patients and doctors. Mackenzie voted for SB 106, which proposed adding language to the Pennsylvania Constitution stating that it does not grant a right to abortion, and for HB 118 on the disposition of fetal remains. Mackenzie also voted for HB 1140, which would protect contraceptive access.

Meriam supports fair funding for all five local school districts, keeping public dollars in public schools, supporting teachers, and expanding career and technical education. That differs from Mackenzie's support for HB 1432, which proposed a Lifeline Scholarship voucher program.

Meriam supports directing public money to public schools and delivering fair funding to Southern Lehigh, Saucon Valley, East Penn, Salisbury Township, and Upper Perkiomen. Mackenzie co-sponsored HB 1432, which would have created the Lifeline Scholarship voucher program.

Meriam will keep drilling out of state parks and forests. She will also guard local farms, streams, and open land. Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, Climate Cabinet, and Lead Locally have endorsed her. Mackenzie was the main sponsor of HB 55, which would open public land to oil and gas drilling.

Yes. Meriam backs buyer checks, rules for ghost guns, and limits on assault-style guns. Moms Demand Action has endorsed her. She also respects the rights of safe, law-abiding gun owners.

Meriam supports background checks, red-flag laws, and keeping permit requirements for concealed firearms. Mackenzie voted for SB 565, which would have removed the permit requirement for concealed carry, and for HB 979, which would have limited local gun ordinances.

The primary was held on May 19, 2026; its registration deadline was May 4. The general election is November 3, 2026. The deadline to register for the general election is October 19, 2026. See the voting page for current deadlines and voter services.
