Meriam is a longtime community organizer, mother of three boys and a journalist. She is a Lehigh University graduate with a Masters Degree in Political Science and has over a decade of experience holding the government accountable. Her mother spent over thirty years caring for our veterans at a hospital. Her dad is a union member till today. They taught her when someone needs help—you show up. When someone needs an advocate—you fight for them. And when you make a promise—you keep it. That's how she was raised and that's why she is running. Meriam will fight for the issues affecting our families, to fund our schools, lower the costs of living, make healthcare more affordable, and to protect our communities. She believes in showing up and being there for her community, neighbors and family. If elected she promises to be a compassionate, moderate voice in Harrisburg, someone who will genuinely listen and work together to represent everyone in our district.

She grew up in a one bedroom apartment and knows what it means to watch her parents struggle to put food on the table. Now she wants to make sure our children can afford homes in our district too. She will do everything she can to bring down the costs of living for our hardworking families and seniors, and protect our freedoms and democracy.
